Velammal Digital App (for Android) hereinafter referred as the "App" and Velammaldigital.org website hereinafter referred as the "webapp" are products of Velammal NewGen Edu Network (http://www.velammal.org) for usage by its students, staff and parents. This app and the webapp are currently under Beta Testing.
This page is used to inform the users of the app and the webapp regarding our policies with the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information of users.
At present, as the school already has data about it's students and parents. The email ID and the password that the users use to access the app is also provided by the school through its technical team and is not collected from users.
For a new user, who is not an existing student of the Velammal NewGen Edu Network, who is registering, we collect the email ID of the parent, the name of the child and the grade the student is trying to access the content for. These are the only data we collect and this data is used only to show relevant grade related content to the child of the parent. This data is not shared to any other 3rd party other than the company that maintains the app for running the app smoothly. No other 3rd party is given access to the data (email ID, student name and grade)
The app allows users to take photos from their phone and upload as part of their assignments or any other workflow. These images are again handled within the app and is not processed with any 3rd party.
If you choose to use our app and /or webapp, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used only for providing and improving the app/webapp. We will not use or share your information with anyone else other than those statutory requirements of agencies that may collect data periodically for school operations. The data collected will also be shared with our software vendor company for improvement of the product as may be necessary for communication about new features etc. but will not be shared with any other agencies for any other purpose.
For a better experience, while using our app/webapp, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information including but not limited to Name, Grade, Address, Mobile number of parent etc. All students would be assigned an official Email ID of the institution for the students and parents to login to the app/webapp. By agreeing to use this app/webapp, parents give their explicit consent for the school to assign an email ID to their child(ren)/ward(s). This Email ID will not be shared with any other agencies other than the app/webapp maintenance vendor.
For the purposse of push notifications, we collect the device ID of the mobile.
We want to inform you that whenever you use our app/webapp, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (�IP�) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our app/webapp� the time and date of your use of the app/webapp and other statistics.
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.
This app/webapp does not use these �cookies� explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use �cookies� to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this app/webapp.
We may in future, employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
1. To facilitate our app/webapp;
2. To provide the app/webapp on our behalf;
3. To perform Service-related services; or
4. To assist us in analyzing how our app/webapp is used.
We want to inform users of this app/webapp that these third parties have access to your Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
This app/webapp may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Certain activities on our sites and applications allow children to create or manipulate content and save it within the app/webapp. Most of these activities do not require children to provide any personal information. If an activity / survey potentially allows a child to insert personal information in their created content, we request parents to either pre-screen the submission to delete any personal information or inform us by email for deletion of such data collection. Examples of created content that may include personal information are stories or other open-text fields and drawings that allow text or free-hand entry of information.
Push notifications are notifications on mobile and other devices that are typically associated with downloaded applications and which can communicate to the device holder even when the application is not in use. These notifications would be sent to the app installed by registered users of the app through the school assigned email ID
At the moment, we do not collect any Geolocation data of the users.
When children interact with the app/webapp, certain information may automatically be collected, both to make our sites and applications more interesting and useful to children and for various purposes. Examples include the type of computer operating system, the child�s IP address or mobile device identifier, the web browser, the frequency with which the child visits various parts of our sites or applications and information regarding the online or mobile service provider. This information is collected using technologies such as cookies, flash cookies, web beacons and other unique identifiers. This information may be collected by KKEL or by a third party. This data is principally used for internal purposes only, in order to:
1. Provide children with access to features and activities on our sites and applications
2. Customize content and improve our sites and applications
3. Conduct research and analysis to address the performance of our sites and applications
4. Generate anonymous reporting for use by Velammal NewGen EduNetwork and /or its software vendors.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
